What happens next
No nurture sequence, no discovery call before anyone has looked at your site. The order is deliberately the reverse of most agencies: you get the analysis first and the conversation second.
A senior link builder opens your domain
Someone who builds links for a living pulls your backlink profile, your top pages and two or three competitors, then looks for the gap between you. No intern, no template.
You get the audit in writing
Three quick wins you can act on, a competitor gap snapshot and pricing for your niche — in plain language, in an email you can forward to whoever signs off on budget.
A 15-minute call
To pressure-test the plan, agree the target pages and anchors, and settle the cadence. If the written audit already answered everything, skip it — plenty of people do.
Outreach starts
Scope and volume are agreed first, then we work the shortlist. You can begin with a single link to see how we operate before committing to anything monthly.
What’s actually inside the audit
“Free audit” means very different things at different agencies. Here is what lands in your inbox, so you can judge in advance whether it’s worth the two minutes the form takes.
Referring domain quality read
Where your links come from today, and how many are genuine editorial sites versus directories, widgets, footers and expired-domain networks that add nothing to a profile.
Anchor text distribution
The share of branded, naked-URL, generic and exact-match anchors pointing at your money pages — the fastest way to spot a profile that looks manufactured rather than earned.
Competitor gap snapshot
Domains that link to two or three of your competitors but not to you. That list is usually the shortest route to parity, because those sites already publish on your topic.
Three quick wins
Concrete and ordered: the page that deserves links first, the anchor pattern worth correcting, and the existing mention or internal link that’s one email away from being fixed.
Risk flags
Anything that would make us nervous if it were our own site: sudden spam-link waves, sitewide links, irrelevant foreign-language placements, over-optimised anchors.
Pricing for your niche
What placements cost in your specific vertical and market, per link and per month, so you can budget without a second call. Regulated niches cost more — we say so up front.
What to put in your message
Your URL alone is enough to get an audit. Every extra line below makes the answer more specific, turning a generic profile review into a plan for the rankings you actually care about.
- The pages you want to rank — exact URLs, not just the homepage. Link building is page-level work, and a category page needs a different plan from a comparison article.
- Your target markets and languages — ranking in Germany, Romania and the UK are three different jobs, with three different pools of sites and three different price levels.
- Two or three real competitors — the sites that beat you in the results page, not the household names you’d like to be compared with. Real competitors make the gap analysis useful.
- Your rough budget or cadence — even a range. It’s the difference between a plan you can start next week and a plan that sits in a folder.
- Anything already tried — a previous agency, a cheap link package, a migration, a manual action. Context stops us from recommending something that already failed for you.
- Optional: analytics access — read-only Google Search Console or GA4 access sharpens the audit, but nothing on this page depends on it.
An enquiry that gets a sharp audit
“We run a B2B SaaS site in the project-management space, mainly targeting the UK and the Netherlands. Our priority pages are /pricing/ and /alternatives/, and we sit just off page one for our main terms. Our real competitors are the two tools that outrank us for ‘project management software for agencies’. We bought a cheap link package a couple of years ago and would rather not repeat that. Budget is modest but monthly — what would you do first?”
Five sentences, and the reply can be specific instead of generic. If you can’t write that yet, send the URL anyway — we’ll ask the questions for you.
Which service you probably need
Most enquiries arrive as “I need backlinks”. In practice that request takes one of three shapes. You don’t have to choose before writing to us — but if you already know, the pricing comes back faster.
Guest posts
A new article published on a relevant site, written for that site’s audience, linking to you in context.
Niche edits
Your link added inside an article that already exists, already ranks and already has links pointing at it.
Authority & iGaming placements
Harder-to-reach sites in competitive or regulated verticals, where the shortlist is short and vetting matters most.
Not sure which one fits? Say so in the form and the audit will recommend a mix. The full breakdown lives on our link building services page.
How a site earns a place on your shortlist
Authority scores on their own are easy to inflate and tell you very little. These are the checks that decide whether we’d put your link on a site — and the same list you can use to grade anyone else’s proposal.
Real organic traffic
The site should rank for terms people actually search, in the country you care about. A high authority score with no organic visibility usually means the metric was manufactured, not earned.
Topical relevance
The site publishes in your subject area, and the page hosting your link belongs there. A finance link dropped into a general lifestyle blog is exactly what it looks like.
Outbound link behaviour
We look at who else the site links to. Pages stuffed with unrelated follow links to casinos, loans and crypto are a footprint, whatever the traffic graph shows.
Indexation
If the site’s recent articles aren’t in Google’s index, a link from it is decoration. We check that published pages get indexed and hold a position afterwards.
Editorial reality
Named authors, dated posts, a real publishing rhythm, a design that isn’t a stock template on an expired domain. Sites built only to sell links tend to look like it.
Audience geography
If you sell in Romania, traffic from unrelated markets doesn’t help you. We match the site’s audience to your target market before it ever reaches your shortlist.

Web Push is a boutique agency based in Europe, and that size is deliberate. The person who reads your form is the person who runs your outreach and answers your email months later — there’s no handover to a junior once the paperwork is signed.
Being small also means we can say no. If the budget can’t move the pages you named, or if the real bottleneck is thin content or a technical problem rather than a shortage of links, the audit will say that instead of selling you a package. It’s a shorter conversation, and an honest one.
The engagement, in short
Quick questions, straight answers
How fast will I get my audit?
The same day you request it. A senior link builder reviews your domain and sends back 3 concrete quick wins, a competitor gap snapshot and exact pricing — usually within hours, not a week.
Is it really free — what’s the catch?
No catch. The audit is free and there’s no obligation to continue, no retainer to start. We’d rather show you real value up front than pressure you into a contract — clients stay because rankings grow.
What information do you need from me?
Just your website URL to begin. If you can add your target markets, main competitors and the pages you want to rank, the audit gets sharper — but none of it is required to send the form.
Do you work with small companies and smaller budgets?
Yes. You can order per link or per monthly package and pause anytime — no long-term contracts. We’ll tell you honestly in the audit what your budget can realistically achieve in your niche.
Do you need access to my website or analytics?
No. The audit runs on publicly available backlink and ranking data, so your URL is enough on its own. Read-only Google Search Console or GA4 access lets us see which pages already earn impressions and makes the recommendations tighter, but it’s entirely optional and we never ask for admin logins.
I already work with another agency — is that awkward?
Not for us. Plenty of audits end with “what you’re doing is sound, here’s the one gap you’re missing”. If your current provider is doing good work you get a second opinion in writing and lose nothing. If they aren’t, the referring domains will show it.
How long before links move my rankings?
Longer than anyone selling links likes to admit. A link has to be discovered, indexed and then weighed against everything else pointing at that page, and competitive terms move over weeks and months rather than days. Anyone naming a date is guessing. What the audit can tell you is which of your pages sit close enough to move first.
What decides the price of a link?
The site’s real organic traffic and topical fit, the editorial work involved, and your vertical. Regulated and high-value niches such as iGaming and finance cost more everywhere, not only with us. You get the numbers for your own niche in the audit, before any call happens.
Do you work in regulated niches like iGaming?
Yes. Casino and betting placements sit alongside the standard white-hat guest posts and niche edits in our program. Those verticals need more vetting per site and a shorter, more carefully checked shortlist, so we scope and price them separately.
What happens to the details I send?
They’re used to prepare your audit and to reply to you. We don’t sell contact data, and if you decide not to go ahead, saying so once is enough — there’s no drip campaign waiting in the background.
